This year we are bringing back the Potjiekos Competition to the Newcastle Winter Festival. The last Potjiekos competition was held in 2016 and was a roaring success with 21 entrants competing to be the Potjie King. While the Big Boys and Girls were busy showing off their cook off talent, the children and families were entertained with fun, games and live music.
The judges had a tough job to determine who will be crowned the Potjiekos champion for 2016. Thank you to those who entered in 2016. You are all winners.
The 2018 Potjiekos Competition will be bigger and better and will take place on Saturday 28 April 2018 at the Newcastle Show Grounds. A Great new feature will be the AJD Meats mystery box challenge. Judging will be done by 2 professional chefs for Durban.
This once again promises to be a fun filled day with lots of entertainment and games to be enjoyed by all and it is also a great team building activity for schools and companies.

For the live entertainment we will have Marulaboom. Some of his hit songs were “Doen die Sexy Hoender” and “Booze Cruise”. He likes interactive entertainment where the spectators can be part of the action. He will entertain the competitors and public the whole day at the competition. Bring your family and friends and come and support our masters of the cast iron pot champions. We want to thank all our sponsors and supporters that make this event possible.
